The Season of Lent is upon us! This sacred time in the Christian calendar invites us to engage in deep reflection on the life, teachings, and sacrifices of Jesus Christ. It is a period marked by introspection, prayer, and preparation for the celebration of Easter, where we remember the resurrection of Jesus and the hope it brings to all believers. Lent encourages us to contemplate our own lives, our faith, and the ways we can grow closer to God through acts of service, repentance, and community.

Before we fully immerse ourselves in this season of reflection, we want to take a moment to celebrate and invite everyone to a joyous Pancake Supper on February 17th. This event serves not only as a delicious gathering but also as a wonderful opportunity for fellowship and connection within our community. Join us for a delightful evening filled with warm pancakes, syrup, and the company of friends and family. It’s a perfect way to kick off the Lenten season with joy and gratitude.

On Wednesday, February 18th, we will continue our Lenten observance with a mid-day Prayer led by Stephen MacDonald at 11:30 AM. This gathering is open to everyone, and we warmly encourage all attendees to bring a bag lunch to enjoy afterward. This time of prayer is a chance to pause amid our busy lives, reflect on our spiritual journeys, and share in the fellowship of others who are also seeking to grow in their faith. It is a wonderful way to connect with one another and support each other through prayer and conversation.

As we move into the following week, on February 25th, the prayer lunch will continue, providing another opportunity for communal reflection and nourishment for both body and soul. Additionally, we will commence our Lenten supper series, where we will serve hearty soup and rolls. This meal will not only satisfy our physical hunger but will also serve as a catalyst for spiritual growth. Following the meal, we will gather for a devotional with Rev. Lockwood, where we will explore themes of Lent and discuss how we can apply these teachings in our daily lives. This will be a meaningful time for sharing insights, questions, and experiences as we journey together through Lent.

We invite everyone to participate in these events as we embark on this sacred season together, fostering a sense of community and deepening our faith as we reflect on the profound impact of Jesus Christ's life and teachings. Let us come together in fellowship, prayer, and service as we prepare our hearts for the celebration of Easter.
