Who we are
We are a congregation of people of all ages and walks of life, who look forward to welcoming new people into our church! Join us next Sunday and see how our community comes together for worship, work and fellowship.
Faith is more than what happens on Sunday mornings. At Central United, we believe in living out our faith, through caring, sharing and daring to live out God’s love. We are a part of the United Church of Canada, a progressive denomination of the Christian faith, which came about as a joining together of Presbyterian, Methodist, and others.
We care through the love we offer those in our community. This is lived out in many ways, through worship, the prayer chain, or Harvest Kitchen.
We share the resources and blessings God has given us. Time, money, hope; these and many more are gifts worth sharing.
We dare to live out our faith. We know by the signs around us that going to church and even believing in God isn’t popular. Through our actions and faith, We dare to make life giving decisions and live with justice for the earth.
If I come to church, what should I wear?
Whatever you’re comfortable in! That being said, most folks dress between casual and dressy, and jeans are welcome!
Do I have to give money?
Only if you want to. We use every donation to keep our church a vibrant important part of our community. Donations can be made through Visitor Envelopes on your first visit, and if your donation is over $10 a receipt (at the end of the year) will be offered. If you’re ready to jump in, we can also get you regular envelopes, or set you up to automatically donate to the church without having to worry about bringing any money with you on Sunday.
What if I have more questions?
Don’t hesitate to ask them! Part of our faith is to question and wrestle with how God is calling each of us, so don’t be afraid to ask us any questions you might have.
